Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actress best recognized for her role as Detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue and for which she won an Emmy Award. Her roles are All My Children Philly CSI: Miami & Army Wives. Delaney was born as the only girl of her homemaker mother and senior executive from the United Auto Workers. Delaney lived most of her life in the company of four brothers. In her early years she was aspired to become a court reporter. Her personal life has been a mess. She's had two divorces that failed and fought with alcohol addiction. In 2005, the actress was denied custody over her one son.
